Concrete measures to fight harassment and anti-social behaviour

STIB-MIVB human and technical resources :

  • Over 6,000 staff members, including more than 300 security and inspection agents and around 300 multimodal agents to provide information.
  • 15,000 cameras across vehicles and stations
  • Emergency call points in stations and on trams and metros
  • Emergency buttons on buses
  • Direct contact with STIB-MIVB security services in all vehicles via drivers or our agents in stations
  • A 24/7 security service operating all year round, ensuring rapid intervention

Prevention trough education

To encourage young people to adopt the right behaviour on public transport, STIB-MIVB agents regularly meet them in schools, during activities or via associations. Awareness of sexist and sexual harassment is one of the topics covered.

Safety survey

Each year, STIB-MIVB conducts a safety survey to improve our service. This survey asks passengers about their experiences on the network, including incidents of harassment.
